AUTHOR GUIDELINES Peppinot Press is an independent publisher of non-fiction titles for discerning readers. We do not accept fiction, poetry or children’s books. We encourage authors to discuss their ideas with us by phone or email before making a formal submission. WHAT TO SUBMIT You may submit by email or paper (see menu above for contact details).
1. A covering letter with:
- your full contact details (preferably include an email address)
- a brief synopsis of the project (about 200 words)
- a brief biography of the author(s)
- an outline of the book's projected readership
- a list of any similar books, and tell us why yours is different
- anything else relevant, like educational courses on the subject.
2. Manuscript: whole or part Send either the whole manuscript (up to a maximum of 200 A4 pages), or the table of contents plus one or two chapters to show your writing style. - All submissions should be typed, single-spaced and with numbered pages.
- Do not put your name on each page—we may send it to an expert in the field for anonymous assessment.
3. If your work requires images then you may send some as photocopies, on CD or by email. For CDs and emails please ensure that the files have the correct suffix for the format (.TIF, .JPG or whatever), are readable by a PC and have meaningful names (‘Chap2Flowers.TIF’ is better than ‘PG17843’). We prefer small low-resolution images for a quick initial assessment. 4. If you wish to have your submission returned, you must include a stamped, self-addressed envelope large enough to hold the manuscript. Always send copies—never send original artwork, photos or anything.
RESPONSE TIME If requested, we will acknowledge receipt of a manuscript by email. We try to reply within two months; if we are taking longer, please give send us a reminder email .
